CHEZA NAMI Community collaborative art banner mural project This community banner was painted and sewn by ThomasinDewhurst (the portrait, portrait background, headdress design and painting, beading on necklace, and writing - calligraphy, design and painting, and the sewn fabric borders) as well as the community (youth and adults painting squares of their own design on the lower portion of the banner) during the ChezaNami 10th Annual Taste of Africa event at the Bankhead Plaza in Livermore, CA. It is a collaborative project, bringing the community together in a creative art activity. The 10 foot x 3 foot banner will be displayed at future ChezaNami events as part of their stage backdrop.
